  • The learning goal of our Level 1: O2 Aware course is to create awareness of the oxygen hazard and introduce safe, risk-mitigating practices.

    Students will examine how oxygen increases the flammability and ignitability of materials, discover how to apply a simple risk management mode, and recognize good practices that safely defend against the hazards.

    This course is approximately 30 minutes in length and designed for presentation by a course facilitator for a class of students (up to 25 per session), such as in a safety meeting.  The course is fully narrated, has periodic review quizzes, and is easy for a facilitator to present.

    INTENDED AUDIENCE: Anyone who works with or around oxygen. Specifically applicable to technicians, system operators, maintenance personnel, safety officers, welders, millwrights, pipe fitters, quality control/quality assurance personnel, system managers, engineers, and others.

  • Our Level 2: O2 Practice course provides a knowledge of oxygen fire safety as it pertains to operations and maintenance personnel wherever oxygen is used.  The learning goal of this course is to study industry best practices for oxygen equipment and systems and incorporate them into handling, operations, and maintenance activities.

    Students will examine the hazards of oxygen use, identify compatible materials, learn common ignition mechanisms in oxygen systems and equipment, distinguish between safe and hazardous handling practices, and predict areas of risk to prevent oxygen fires.

    This course is 3-4 hours of fully-narrated content presented in seven modules, including a final application exercise.  It is designed to be accessed by individuals through a 30-day license, or presented in a single session to a group of up to 25 people by a WHA-certified Facilitator.  To learn more about becoming a WHA-certified eTraining course facilitator, please contact WHA.  

    INTENDED AUDIENCE: Technicians, system operators, maintenance personnel, safety officers, welders, millwrights, pipe fitters, quality control/quality assurance personnel, system managers, engineers, and others.

    Students earn .3 CEUs, 3 PDHs or 6 category B CEUs for CHT/CHRNs. 

    WHA-certified Facilitators receive a minimum of .7 CEUs or 7 PDHs, as well as a Facilitator certificate.
